Commission Sizes & Process

Commission Process

Step 1 > View rules, examples and prices

This can be found on the commissions page.

Step 2 > Fill and Submit order form

This can be found on the commissions page.

Step 3 > Await email reply from Penguinsbite

This can take up to a week for Penguinsbite to respond to, but can be as quick as within the day. Please be patient!

Step 4 > If accepted, you will be EMAILED and sent an invoice.

If accepted, you will receive confirmation of this from Penguinsbite and be supplied with a link to pay an invoice - please check you are happy with the details of the invoice before payment. Please complete payment within a week after receiving your confirmation email, as the slot will be released after which.

If there are no more slots left by the time your order arrives, you will be automatically added to a waiting list and will be emailed to be notified as such. Once slots reopen, depending on where you are on the waiting list, you may be contacted to fill that slot and if you are still interested, the order will continue as an accepted order. (Refer to the paragraph above for what happens then)

If you are emailed that your order has been rejected, then please understand that it is due to not matching the terms and conditions or that I may not even feel confident to take the commission on board. There may be another solution offered.

Step 5 > Once payment is received, a ‘Trello card’ will be created and then a link emailed to the client for them to view the progress of the commission

You are then able to jump onto the Trello board and check on any changes or updates during the process. You will also be able to see if your commission is in the ‘To do’, ‘Doing’ or ‘Done’ listings. Once complete and approved, your Trello card will be archived. Art updates will usually consist of ‘Preliminary sketch’, ‘partial render’ and ‘final render’.

Step 6 > When Pen gets the prelim sketch done, you may be contacted to have a look and confirm you are happy with the direction.

You can be honest here and let me know if you don’t like the pose / think it doesn’t suit the character etc and request changes to the overall image as long as they stay within the guidelines of that style of commission (i.e. you can’t ask for a background when its a Style B). I will only make prelim sketch alterations within reason - but please feel free to discuss it with me at this stage. The next time you will be asked for input will be at Final Render.

Step 7 > Upon ‘final render’, the client will be notified to request approval of the artwork via email.

Once approved, the artwork will be emailed to the client. If not approved by the client, there will be resulting communication over what changes are required (mainly if Pen forgot something like a scar etc) and then Step 6 will be done again.

Step 8 > Commission artwork is emailed to client. Commission is complete.

Thanks again for considering ordering a commission and having ordered one if you have already!
