How does the discount system work?

Every £5 spent post discounts and excluding shipping gets you a point, and they accumulate up to 10 points. There are two parts to the 10 point system - a sub reward at 5 points (£5 voucher code off your next order) and the main reward at 10 points (£10 of your next order). Each 10 point rotation can reward you with a total of £15.

What happens if I make 10 points in one order?

If you have, then firstly, thank you!!! And secondly, in an instance more than one reward is achieved in one order, the voucher code will be upgraded to the total of all rewards. E.G. A £5 and £10 voucher will be upgraded into a single £15 voucher.

What if I don’t want points?

If you do not wish to gain points, please use the contact page to let us know and list your billing name or name used to create an account and we will make a note of it.

What happens when you get to the maximum number of points?

When you get to 10 points, anything above counts from 1 again.
E.G. Order earns 9 points -> £5 voucher created, 9 points remain until 10 is hit.
E.G. New order earns 7 points -> Customer already has 7 points from previous orders -> Total of 14 points -> £10 voucher created, 4 points remain.
E.G. Order earns 14 points -> upgraded £15 voucher created, 4 points remain.
E.G. Order earns 24 points -> upgraded £30 voucher created, 4 points remain.

How long do Loyalty reward vouchers last?

They have a year’s length on them, please use them within that time or they will naturally expire.

Do memberships (PenPals) add to points?

Recurring payments from PenPals do not receive points. Points are only received through orders from the store.

What do I do with my points card?

Points cards were predominantly created for physical conventions and doubled as my business card - you will receive these in the order and often times they will be stamped appropriately to that particular order. It is up to you if you wish to keep them but they can be thrown in the recycling as Penguinsbite will keep record of your points.

I have received my order but have not received a voucher code?

If this happens, it is simply because Penguinsbite usually goes through creating and emailing them out once a month and so it may be that this has yet to take place. Please be patient, you should receive it within a month at the latest.

I have received a voucher code but not my order?

If this happens, it is likely due to where you are situated in the world and how trigger-happy or close to a store admin day the order was placed. If this happens, please be patient and wait for your order.

What if I want to save my points for a convention?

Due to the easy nature to attempt to double-use a reward online through a voucher and offline through a voucher card we will not be accepting points / stamps for both. We will be issuing offline points / stamps using an alternative stamper, different to the one used to send out online.

What if I want to use points from a convention on the online store?

All points received before 2020 will be reset and all new offline / convention points /stamps will be created using an alternative stamper going forward. If you wish to use stamps online from a convention, you will need to mention this at the convention where the points will be assigned to your account instead of passed back at a convention, otherwise they are treated separately.

What if I want to use a voucher from online at a convention?

You simply need to show the email with the voucher code at convention and Penguinsbite will redeem them through the store offline.

Do i get points from buying commissions

Yes you do.

Does shipping and handling count towards points?

No, as shipping costs are completely out of our control.

Can I recieve multiple reward codes?

Yes, overtime you may receive more than one, but they have an expiry of 1 year, so please do your utmost to use them in the allotted time.

Why is my discount code listed as ‘upgraded’?

It is possible that you had earned more than one reward in an order and so the vouchers are upgraded into one amount instead. They may be called an ‘upgraded’ code.

I found a card with stamps, can i still use it?

If you had ordered online, you can contact us about the card and we can check our records to see if you were entitled to a reward voucher, have one that is still valid or have used it etc. If you have a stamped card from a convention, please discard any received prior to 2021 as they have expired.
